2007 Results

 Enjoy a morning of fun, family, food, door prizes, awards and a little exercise while supporting a worthy cause.

The Derby Day Dash consists of a 5K run/walk and 3 youth fun runs. All events start and finish at Fifth Third Plaza in downtown Dayton.

All are welcome - serious and recreational runners, walkers, strollers and even pets!

Date: Saturday, May 3, 2008

Time: 7:30 A.M. Registration; 9:00 A.M. 5K Run/Walk; Youth Fun Runs begin after completion of the 5K

Place: Fifth Third Plaza in downtown Dayton

Events: 5K Dash, Tot Trot (ages 3-5), Kids Canter (6-8), Guys and Girls Gallop (9-10). The first 75 registered children ages 6-10 will be fitted for a free safety helmet. All children registered will receive a free ticket to The Beach Waterpark.

Awards: The awards ceremony is at Fifth Third Plaza and will follow the race. Awards will be given to the first place overall male and female and the top three males and females in 16 age divisions.

 

Team Awards:

Grimmy Cup Challenge -  Team competition. Minimum of four members, no maximum. The total time of the four fastest runners on a team will determine the winner of the Grimmy Cup.

Best Hat Contest: Hats will be judged for originality, Kentucky Derby theme and humor. Judging begins at 8:30 AM. A hat check service will be provided as hats need not be worn during the race.

Door Prizes: After the awards ceremony, there will be door prize drawings for over $2,500 in merchandise and gift certificates.
